NYC is every bit as awesome and vibrant as it's reputation.
We woke up today at 7.30am, the sun streaming in, a beautiful cool breeze blowing through our window, it is heavenly.
Our home for the next 11 days is on the Upper West Side, one block from Central Park, very nice area. We went out last night for Starbucks around 11pm and felt so safe.
The apartment is fantastic, the apartment building is wonderful, (I'm guessing it was built in the 50's/60's - think 'Mad Men'), with a large marble foyer and reception, and a team of friendly doormen. Bill (our host), is great! A native New Yorker who is passionate about NYC and willing to help plan the day, give advice about things to see and do, talk about transport, it's a great help!
Today we're heading Downtown to Ground Zero, Macys, Century 21, a bit of exploring and shopping - we'll report back this evening when we fall into bed.
