All needles are not created equal.....

Okay, so the needles on the left (not to scale!) are able to be taken onto an aeroplane, however, the teeny tiny needles on the right (to scale), are not allowed onto a plane... what the? I could fatally wound someone with a bamboo knitting needle, not that I would.... unless they were trying to take a teeny tiny sewing needle off me....

I will continue with my research. The thought of a long flight with nothing to do with my hands freaks me out a little bit, maybe I could get a doctor's certificate to say that I will go mad if I don't have my handsewing... okay, you can laugh at me now.

Anyone got a definitive answer about needles on planes?
